Public Cold Storage / Freezing Services:

 

Sable Fish Packers (1988) Limited has great capacity for freezing and cold storage of product. There are over 20 Horizontal plate freezers and 1 large Fanblast in the facility as well as a very large main cold storage facility along with a secondary cold storage, all capable of holding several million pounds of product. Since our main production is frozen seafood products for consumption, we maintain the cold storage at a colder temperature than other public facilities, making it well suited to products requiring lower than -20 C holding temperature.

Very Cold Holding Temperatures:
 
  • Main Cold Storage normal operating temperature of -25 to -30 Celsius.

  • Ideal for storing products requiring very cold holding temperatures to maintain product quality and integrity (Frozen Food Product, Frozen Bait, etc).

 
Flexible Storage Options: 
 
  • Main Cold Storage: Products in cartons / blocks should be palletized and stretch-wrapped for maximum pallet integrity. Should be able to be stacked 3-4 pallets high.

  • Cooler Storage: Product should be palletized, covered and stretch wrapped for protection of product. Can be stored individually on the floor, stacked, or stored off the floor in our galvanized steel racking system.

 
Freezing Capability: 
 
  • Sable Fish Packers can receive, process, package, freeze and label your product in-house to the customer's specifications, to be placed into cold storage.

  • Horizontal plate freezers, a fanblast freezer and flexibility of operations allows us to adjust our process to suit your needs.

  • Competitive rates are offered on a case-by-case basis for all customers requiring processing / packaging / freezing of product.

 
More Details:
 
  • Normal operating hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Special arrangements can be made for weekend / after hours deliveries / pickups.
  • 24hrs advanced notice is recommended to schedule pickups.
  • Product count and condition is confirmed against Bills of Lading during receipt.
  • Product can be labeled by the facility before entering cold storage.
  • Inventory Reports can be provided at any time upon request.
  • Palletizing, re-packing, inspections, digital photo services available.
  • Customers are billed a 1-time in and out charge to cover receiving, transfer to cold storage, tallying and releases.
  • Customers are billed storage once per month on the anniversary date.
